The Hepcazz are three young musicians hailing from Lueneburg near Hamburg who live and breathe 1950s’ American rock music. Their high-voltage, compact sounds are died-in-the-wool rockabilly – straight from the heart and with audible joy in each track.
The Hepcazz had dreamed of recording their own album. This dream became reachable when a woman employed by the record company Membran happened to meet Slapcat Gressy. Hearing the music from his car stereo and liking what she heard, she asked him for the name of the band.
He told her that it was his own band and a tape from a rehearsal. Deeply impressed, she campaigned for The Hepcazz at her employer’s and got them their first record contract.
The result: Tales from the Hepcazz – 100% rockabilly.
